Chrome Kadet Photo Insert

Chrome Kadet Photo Insert — the Kadet, turned into a camera bag

The Kadet was built to carry everyday life across a city. The Photo Insert lets it carry a camera too, without looking like a camera bag. Slide it in and the sling you already wear becomes a discreet, padded home for a body, a lens or two and the small things that go with them. Pull it out and the Kadet is a Kadet again.

It is designed around the Kadet's exact shape, so it sits snugly with no shifting on the ride. And because it closes on its own zips and has a carry handle, it works just as well inside another bag, or on the shelf as a tidy case for your kit.

Protection

The interior is padded and lined with soft polyester tricot to keep bodies and lenses free of scuffs. The exterior is recycled nylon and polyester with a polyester taffeta finish, PFAS-free and weather resistant — a second layer of defence inside a bag that already shrugs off the rain.

Frequently asked questions

Which bags does it fit?
Every Kadet and Kadet Max, including the waterproof WP versions. It does not fit the Mini Kadet or the Micro Kadet, which are too small.

What camera will it take?
It is sized for a compact kit: a mirrorless body with one or two small lenses, or a compact camera with an action cam and accessories. A full-frame DSLR with a large zoom will be too big. If you are unsure, bring your camera to L'Hirondelle Bike Shop in Meppel and we will test the fit with you.

Is my camera protected from rain?
The insert is weather resistant and sits inside a Kadet, which adds its own protection. For heavy rain, pairing it with a Kadet WP gives you a fully waterproof outer shell.

Can I use it without a Kadet?
Yes. The dual zip closure and carry handle make it a standalone padded case, or an insert for other bags of a similar size.

Can it be repaired?
Chrome covers it for life against material and workmanship defects. Our team can advise you on any wear-and-tear repair.
